Summer Joins the Saturday Night Live Band

Summer Camargo (born August 18, 2001) is the newest member of the Saturday Night Live Band. She plays the trumpet, and joined at the beginning of season 48 in 2022, replacing longtime band trumpet player Earl Gardner (who retired after having been with the band for past 37 years). Camargo is currently 22 years old, this makes her the youngest member of the band, as well as the first person born in the 21st century to start working at Saturday Night Live in any capacity. She started at SNL during her Senior year at the Julliard School, where she graduated from in 2023.
