Summer Camargo’s Horn of Plenty
Yes, we go on and on about the South Florida debut of “Hamilton” in the Guide to the Arts. But as you’ll see, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical is not the only thing that has us closing the distance between journalism and fandom this year. We’re also excited about the feminist spin playwright Michael McKeever has put on “Dracula.” We also can’t wait to hear more music from the trumpet of Summer Camargo and her Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble. And, of course, we continue to be moved and inspired by the courageous artwork and activism of Manuel Oliver, who lost his son Joaquin in the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
